+2 Spyder chassis assembly notes

PostPost by: bg109685a » Sun Nov 19, 2023 2:41 pm

Hi all,

I have taken ownership of a pre-assembled Spyder chassis and running gear that has not been on the road yet. I would like to double check / scrutinise the build and hoping that some has or could create an electronic (pdf) of the assembly notes that would have come with the bare chassis.

I have noticed a couple of bolts the wrong way round and I had assembled the engine mounts incorrectly (thx to TonyWylde for helping with this).

Hoping someone can help

Hi

Does such a PDF exist? I have bought a couple of built up Spyder chassis (one early and one Zetec) and in all my years have never seen any form of instructions with anything bought from Spyder. My most recent purchase (Zetec engine mounts) came with no guidance (as expected).

If you do find something then I would be very interested as I still have both chassis.

Is yours a standard Spyder spaceframe or a later one with the cut out foir the Zetec engine and RSC suspension etc.?

Zetec+ 2 under const, also 130S. And another 130S for complete restoration. Previously Racing green +2s with green tints. Yellow +2 and a couple of others, all missed. Great to be back 04/11/2021 although its all starting to get a bit out of control.

Apologies for the (dis)orientation!

I have access to PDF editing software on my work computer so I've taken the liberty to edit the original chassis assembly notes posted here, re-ordering the pages and rotating the entire document.

As mentioned by Berni, I thought I'd have to figure out how to make the switch without any documentation of any kind. Chalk up another one for LotusElan.net, unquestionably the finest resource on Earth for Elan & Plus 2 owners.

MUCHOS GRACIAS Brian!

Cheers!

Hi Guys

Thank you so much. I shall use this to help organise my rebuilds a bit better.

All the best
