The following changes to Recommended Lubricants are approved by Lotus Engineering, therefore, will Dealers please notify their Customer accordingly. Service literature will be amended when reprinted. 5-speed Gearbox - Any of the currently recommended SAE.80EP oils of the manufactures shown in both the Workshop Manual and the Owner's Handbook, can be used. This supersedes the previously recommended SAE. 20W/50 engine oil. Differential - Any of the currently recommended SAE.90 Hypoid oils of the manufacturers shown in bottom of the Workshop Manual and the Owner's handbook, can be used, there being no necessity to add 10% 'Anglamol 99' by weight. It is considered that any modern SAE.90 Hypoid oil (which already has 'Anglamol 99' added) is satisfactory for use in the Elan and 2 differential. |
