Sprint brake master cylinder reservoir

I'm in a middle of a rebuild of my '72 Sprint mc and want to make sure the next time I do this, the reservoir comes off without drama. The part shown here, as you know, goes into the master and held with a 'ring in a groove' arrangement. Any suggestions for coating this ring and/or the bore in the mc with anything to keep the corrosion down, and provide easy ingress (egress in the future)? I'm thinking about using the red rubber grease provided but what do experts say?

p.s. As an aside, are these reservoirs being reproduced?

Spray the hole in which the nipple of the reservoir goes liberally with a lubricant and pry upwards as evenly as possible, while twisting and turning. No guarantees. Unfortunately, a year ago when I posted this, no one answered so hopefully someone now will as to whether or not the reservoir is reproduced.

The following two repair kits are working:

The problem with the reservoirs was fixed by puting in a o-ring as you can see in the appendix.
