Radiator 1969 Elan Plus@

PostPost by: JeffP » Thu Aug 12, 2021 12:32 am

Just bought this Elan Plus2, it is an early Federal car. Is there a way I can tell if the radiator is original? It looks it's age, and the buckets look about right with two 1/4in bolts top and bottom to secure brackets to rad. The brackets are also tapered at the bottom. Thanks

I have two radiators for my +2 project. Both the same. There are no tapped holes just flat brackets.

There was also a narrow radiator used that has separate brackets, tapered as you describe. Both are fairly well shown in the parts manual in Section KA -- Cooling. https://lotuselan.net/wiki/KA_-_Cooling_%2B2

I had the way too small version in my car. :| It has the 1/4" tapped holes in the radiator to attach the brackets. Yours is most likely original. Post a photo if you can.
