Replacing 17 ACR - Lotus +2S with alternator

The old alternator is the 17ACR Lucas which had four wires attached as per diagram 62 in the workshop manual. The new alternator only has three connections two large and one small. The two large are the black and brown/white the smaller I'm thinking will be the brown/yellow for the warning light. The fourth wire brown/black which did connect to the 17ACR appears to have no visible connection on the new alternator.

Any guidance on wiring this new alternator?
