S3 vs. S4 Window Assembly

I know the window assemblies between the S3 and S4 are different, but can light surgery be performed on the S4 assembly to make it work for the S3? Mine are rusty and pitted, and I’m afraid it would cost a fortune to have them repaired and rechromed.
