Can anyone tell me whats the difference between a S1 and S4 rear bumper other than the drain tube in each corner ie would an S4 rear bumper fit onto an S1 rear shell .

Same part across the range according to the Parts List so it should fit...

Greg,

I think you've got it. Only difference is the early car has the drain built it.

On page 116 of the S1 S2 Coupe parts book, the bumpers are shown on separate lines, the S1 and S2 on one line and the coupe on the next line down, but both show the number 36 B 706. There is also same number on a 3rd line for the optional extra chrome bumper. Finally, the painted bumper shows as A36 B 706.

Thanks Roger (both) .
I need a rear S1 bumper, I recall some years ago obtaining an S4 bumper for my S1 and it would not fit ie the 2 ends needed to be trimmed by about an inch each side as the shape of the body on the S1 was different plus the depth of the S1 bumper in the centre was deeper on the S1 .

Anybody got a S1 bumper for sale in the UK ( Preston , Lancashire ) , good , bad or indifferent ?
