Tony,
I have sent e-mails to four companies who advertise bespoke glass, and so far only one reply which was negative. I had not thought of domestic glass suppliers, I am away at the moment but will see what I can find when I get home.

Eric,
My car is an S4 and has 5mm glass, but I have only measured one side, and do not know if it is original. Something else to check.

Hi Richard,
Back in the day there was a code for the year of manufacture of the glass.
With Triplex there is a dot over the word `toughened` indicating year it was made.
My 1967 S3 has the dot over the `n` which indicates xxx7 but does not show the decade.
There are also many other code marks which mean something else.
Cheers,
Eric

Hi Richard,
Well that does solve one problem in that you only need to buy one type of seal. The issue is which one???
Sorry, but I have to laugh.
Cheers,
John.

This is well out of date but I created this document in 2003 when the window 'Silent Channel' extrusion I bought proved to be unsuitable. I then obtained several samples from other vendors and none of those were much better but a good friend gave me some that he had overbought when he restored his car, unfortunately though he could not recall where he got it.
The side windows in my car (1968 S4) which I have owned from new are 4mm thick.
