Fixing the gear lever gaiter

PostPost by: rong » Fri Apr 09, 2010 9:23 pm

This is probably a silly question and may have been covered before, but here goes! Should the rubber gear lever gaiter be glued to the gearlever? The gaiter repeatedly slides up the gear lever despite being a reasonably tight fit around the shaft! Am I missing something fundamentaly simple here?

The gaiter is fixed to the tunnel cover by the chrome surround.

my gaiter is fixed to the centre consol by the chrome surround and is stopped from sliding up the lever shaft by the shaped collar that is part of the shape of the lever shaft.....it isnt fixed to the actual lever the rubber keeps it quite tight rond the shaft of the lever its self
