Best way of draining Antifreeze

When draining the antifreeze in the past I usually removed the lower hose from the rad. Is that the best way and does it enable any antifreeze in the engine block to drain?

You should have a drain tap in the bottom header of the radiator unless you have a non standard after market unit. This leaves a small amount of coolant in the bottom of the block and sitting in the heater.

If you want to remove all the remaining coolant then open the drain tap that was on the left rear of the block to drain the remaining coolant in the block. Many of these have been replaced with plugs over the years. Also remove the heater hoses and flush with clean water and then blow out with air.
