I see many colors listed with different prefixes. A or L or S. What is the difference?

I'd not seen the Elan Factory list before. It's perhaps the most helpful listing I've come across. Now if only there was a picture of the car in color next to each one...
So the "S" appears to be a repair color associated with some (but not all) of the "L" versions? This part still confuses me.

I have a photo of my +2 in the Elan Gallery section "Elan +2 LHD".
What is this color? I picked it from a color chart. I would like to use a factory code on the VIN plate. Looks like Martini Green.
Any comments?

Martini Green is a 1979 colour.
This is a 1969 colour chart
If you don't know the original colour why not leave the code out-you'd only confuse any future owner

You are correct. Unless Lotus offered factory custom colors of which one matches mine, I should leave the color code blank. The original vin plate for my car has no color listed.
