Revolution KO on Sprint

PostPost by: Chris-72sprint » Sun Sep 06, 2020 7:02 pm

My original steel wheels are beyond restoring  so quick question please

Has anyone fitted the 5 x 13 KO revolution wheels (available from Kelvedon Lotus) to a bog standard spec Sprint ?

With 155 80 tyres (or other recommendations) will I have any problems with suspension or wheel arch rubbing ?

Many thanks
Chris

No personal experience of Revo KO's. Have had normal bolt on's in a few cars.
but fairly sure there were a set of original KO wheels (4) on the bay complete with tyres on them recently which may be another option, think they were around £1200 though..
Not sure but didn't Sue Miller have some OE spec KO's??

Chris, I have those wheels on a '69 S4. As near as I can figure they have about 1/4" more offset than both 5 x13 Minilites and Panasports. That gives a little more clearance by the springs and a little less at the wheel arches. I don't think they will fit an S2 as I got mine from an S2 owner who couldn't fit them.
That's all I know, other then I like both the way they look and the ease of cleaning them.

Good morning Chris.
Just to say that I prefer the look of the original wheels.
Sue miller sells the new stronger ones which she has has had made.
Although they can be bought from other dealers, I understand that they get them from Sue.
They are in black or silver, 13 x 4.5J and according to the workshop manual will take 13 x 155 tyres for S4 and Sprint versions.
I have them on my S3 and am very pleased with them.
Your choice of course.

Thanks for your replies.
I tried to get steel wheels from Sue but she has not got any left and does not know when she will reorder as will need to order a sizeable batch.
I think I will go for the Revolutions in the short term

Today changed from my old wonky steel wheels to Revolutions - you can’t rush these things
They clear the suspension perfectly but had to remove about 5mm off the inside rear arch to get clearance.
I think my car sits a bit low at the back which is strange because it had new standard springs an TTR shocks fitted.
The front is adjustable and the car is level at the sill at 6.25” - does that seem ok ?
Thanks
Chris

Stance looks ok to me as a non-techie.

Colour is a bit muted, though.
