Hi Gerry

I believe it's 2 3/16" OD and 10 TPI. I don't know the thread is but usually ones like this are Withworth form

Andy, thanks for the reply. I couldn't find any pipe of a suitable dimensions in my "stock" but I believe a bit of 2" Sch 80 would work. Alternative of boring out from solid bar would also do but quite a bit of machining.

In the end decided to sacrifice a couple of my beaten up old spinners. I now have a flat steel surface at right angles to the wheel hubs. All suspension alignment tools can be clamped to it or mostly just use magnetic base on the flat surface. Will make bump steer adjustments and laser front rear toe-in checks a doddle. Of course one LH base and one RH base are needed.

John, you could use the brake disc but...

more convenient further out from the body (aim front back to rear wheels) plus now have a flat surface straight across centre of rotation, easier to just clamp on laser level, longer level instrument can be used etc

Gerry, I like that. How important is it that the plate sit perfectly flat on the spinner, ie perfectly parallel to the disc? I'm thinking it doesn't have to because the measurements are just relative to each other.
