Never heard of curry making folks a bit wobbly. Are you sure it's not the 10 pts of lager that goes with the curry?

I gave " Wheel Repairs" in Scunthorpe a ring today about fixing buckled Lotus steel wheels. If the whole wheel has a side to side movement as it is rotated, i.e. the rim is out of kilter with the hub area, they cannot correct it.
What they can do is straighten local damage, such as a kerb impact that has deformed the rim over an inch or two. About ?30 per wheel was quoted.
This answer suprised me a bit, and I am hoping I got the wrong end of the stick and they can correct a buckle after all. Has anyone used them in this way?

Tim,
there was a post "Restoring Plus 2 Steel Wheels" , 5th July 2007, which goes into this subject.
Of course, for the baby Elan there are plenty of new wheels available. The Plus 2 is a different section.
I wonder if Spratleys could take a new baby Elan wheel (disk section) and weld on a replacement wider rim???
There's still plenty of 13" steel rims being manufactured so raw materials should be obtainable.
Regards
