Anybody used 175/65/13 rubber on their +2 or Avon CR322?

I know looking back through the forum some people manage to use 175/70/13 rubber on the 5.5j x 13 wheels of their +2's.
Does anybody use 175/65/13 with slighter lower and stiffer sidewalls, which will also of course lower the gearing.
I can get a great deal on a brand new set of Avon CR322, which I believe are the tyre used in the Caterham race series.
Anybody used this rubber? All advice appreciated.
Mark.

I am using 185/70 13 Yokohama A 021R on the standard steel 5.5 rims. Thses are my "winter" tyres, but with the summer we are having I don't seem to have changed them.
Very sticky, life estimated at around 5k but I don't do that in a year. Very pleased and they are a stock car mandatory tyre in one of the classes so they can be bought at very good prices. Mine were about ?40 each brand new, plus fitting.

It's not a rehearsal

I have the Avons on my baby Elan. It is a standard S3 so I can only get the 155/80 on. Even this rubs a bit. Not much to comment really as I haven't driven the car much with them. They seem like normal shopping car type tyres i.e. will prob last ages but not very grippy, but there isn't much else in this size. As you say the Caterham race series do indeed use these and is actually why I chose them. I am not sure this means anything though. That said I have no bad comment to make. They just seem fine. If you can get something better (like the A21 mentioned above) I think these will be better (Assuming you want grip over wear).
Cheers.

I used Toko 21r tyres (as above) on my caterham for ages. Cracking all round tyre, good enough for the track speeds of an Elan, and good in the wet too, should you get caught out. (Formula 2 short track stock cars use these tyres too, and those lads like a bargain)
I've got Yoko 032r 185/60 r13
To be honest they are probably a bit too sticky for the car, and not too good in the wet, but they were on from previous owner. Once worn out I'll go 21r.
