reccommended tyres?

I want to buy some tyres 175x75x13 for my plus 2 can anyone reccommend a good tyre in this size not to bothered about long lasting as I don't do that many miles but want a grippy good handling tyre.

The Michelin XAS FF is available in the original 165x80x13. This is a very sticky tyre, the same compound as the Pilot Cup. Essentially it is a road legal racing tyre.

I use the 155x80x13 on my S4 and they give outstanding levels of grip while still being progressive when they do eventually let go.

They are special order and not inexpensive.

Also, they are 80 series only in the sizes in which you are interested.

Keep in mind these are H rated tires, so you should probably be running a 3.77 or 3.9 differential with ignition cutout under 7000.

Excellent, being a very soft compound and with plenty of tread they grip well and stay progressive. In general though I prefer driving with the roof down so my wet experience is limited

I don't mean to hijack this posting but I've seen nothing but good posts praising the Michelin FF tires. When I finally get my baby Elan back on the road, these are the tires I will fit. Should I get the 155 or 165 tires for my S2 Elan? I have 5-inch wide Panasports and small diameter rear springs fitted and I've straightened the body work so the body is no longer banana shaped when viewed from above. This results in an additional 1/2 inch clearance on the tight, rear right side wheel arch. The front body work is as original so there may be still an issue with the rack at full lock.

Well the last time this subject came up the recommendation was Yokohoma A-Drives which is what I went for from www.motorworld.co.uk who sold them to me for ?27 each plus ?10 overall delivery charge.

There is a good article on the yokohama website explaining the virtues of the tyre in terms of the grip pattern and overal pressure pattern thats worth reading.
