Wheel Repair Recommendation

PostPost by: smo17003 » Wed May 16, 2007 10:54 am

After buying some k/o wheels from Donnington and Ebay I've found that most of them have quite a bit of "wobble" once they have been fitted to a hub and spun. I've tried doing a Google seach for steel wheel repairers without any luck. Does anyone know of such a repair service in the UK that might be able to true up my wheels? I have done the obvious check on the hub itself and that all seems OK.

I have the same problem but i have taken out the centres of the wheels because they look alright and i am currently looking for the outside bits so i can re-rivet them in. And im probably taking them up to 5 1/2" while im at it.

No idea where you could find a repair center to fix them though, because I live in Asia.

Once upon a time in 1980 I took my wheels to Weller Wheels in Tunbridge Wells to have new rims fitted. After six months frustration and various threats I got them back - all lovely and new and ROUND!
Maybe things have changed at Weller in the last twenty seven odd years.
They're still around. Worth a try?
