Do not confuse the expression "the Elan Factory" meaning it is an official Lotus factory. It is a (respected) independent. Similarly any parts production in the US is on an independent basis.

The result being that production runs for items such as wheels have to make commercial sense for these guys.

I had a chat to Steve at ?lan factory a day or two ago, he suggested that if he had orders for 50 wheels he could justify the tooling costs to produce a run of wheels which would bring the cost within the realms of possibility. Cost would be in order of $200 per wheel......at that price Is there that much interest I wonder? Happy to convey any responses to Steve so he knows the score
