Uniroyal are available with "The Rain Tire" at euro 38,70 each, that paul matty suggested whan I was looking for tires.

I am running Dunlop Grand Prix 165/75R13's on my S4. They fill the guards nicely and so far have been a very good tyre. There is plenty of tread so I suspect they will be a good wet tyre (not tested yet...).
After reading this thread I suspect there is too much pressure (about 32lb) although the ride is good (better than my WRX albeit with coil-overs) and the dry handling is very good.

Has anyone experienced the Kumho V700 175/60 x 13 on a S1 or S2 Elan? Mounted on a 5 x 13 Panasport? Does anyone know if they'll fit under the wings with the small diameter rear springs? Does anyone have pictures of them? Thank you, Frank

I know I know this seems to have been done to a death, BUT with my 175/60/13 Dunlop D98J well below the tread depth indicator at the rear I have to bite the bullet and get something new. Seems they are all hideously expensive if I want somehing sticky, but any suggestions appreciated. Yokohama A048 look okay but AUD$230, any other ideas guys?

I have Uniroyals on my Elan, they work well but have fairly ugly sidewall markings ...... if you're worried about such things

Just found a tyre website - www.tyre-shopper.co.uk - has quite a useful search facility on it.
Just found Bridgestone ER33 155x80x13T for ?45 a corner fully fitted. They also have some Dunlop SP Street Resp at ?44 a cormer in same size.
Don't know what people on here will make of these but the Bridgestone seems to have a good write up and as they say has been an F1 tyre manufacturer.

I use Yokohamas A021 on my Seven , bought from Camskill (with 12.5% LS Club discount) The transformation from the old 28 year old tyres is amazing (Yes They were the original tyres dated 1982)
The tyres are a "Track day" tyre but normal tyre looking , not like the A048 or the Toyo R888
When its time on the Elan, I'm going to see if I can get something similar.

I've decided to buy these 175/70-13's (See 2nd and 3rd paragraphs) in the next couple of weeks. Tire rack has them for $51 and I can pick them up at there warehouse to save on shipping. I'm replacing Goodyear NCT's, 175/70-13, that are about 20 years old on panasports.
The HTR 200 is Sumitomo's High Performance Summer tire developed to meet the needs of today's sports cars, coupes and sedan drivers, as well as offers modern size options for many vintage sports cars. It is designed to blend comfort, wear and performance on wet and dry roads, but it is not intended to be driven in near-freezing temperatures, through snow or on ice.
The Sumitomo HTR 200 features a silica- and natural rubber-enhanced tread compound molded into a symmetric tread design with stable independent shoulder and intermediate tread blocks to provide dry road handling and enhance wear. The HTR 200 radial's wide circumferential and curved lateral grooves team up to enhance wet traction and reduce the risk of hydroplaning. The tire's internal structure includes twin steel belts reinforced by JointLess Band (JLB) spirally wound nylon belt edge strips to deliver high-speed durability while it reduces weight and helps provide a more uniform ride quality.

A few months ago I fitted Bridgestone B249 165/75/13's.
I picked them as they look "period" (I'm very fortunate that my car is still very original), they perform very well (I have pushed them around Eastern Creek and they are very predictable - but of course not as grippy as the current crop of road-legal competition tyres) and they were less than AU$90 fitted and balanced.

Apparently many tires (tyres?) discussed are not available in all markets. I have Yokohama Avids in size 175/70x13 on standard wheels and, as they are 15 years old, they deserve to be replaced. I will be interested in the Sumitomos that Russ mentions above. Unfortunately, the pool of performance 13" tires is dwindling in the States.
We will never again have those great Goodyear Bluestreaks that I used to slalom. Now those were sticky tires. If you didn't crack a wheel with those, you just weren't trying hard enough.

The other alternative is the Dunlop DZ3G if you want something sticky but a similar price to the A048's. Not much else on the market in that size and sticky and all around that price.
cheers

You wish to consider the Vredestein Sprint +. I'm very pleased with them and other posters have commented positively.
