what wheels on this sprint

I can't help with the wheels, but I am not sure that is an S4 / Sprint. The wheel arches look more like an s3.
That may change your choice of wheels / tyres and how they look.
Andy.

good spot, i think your right probs why ive not seen such beefy set up on a sprint..
need to find out what the max tyre width i can use on teh elan.. i have narrow shocks on rear.. the originals whilst nice, just look too thin for the look im trying to achieve, but i love the knock on wheels

Looks like it has 26R type/style arches fitted (see the shorter front bumper ends). I can get 185/60/14 tyres on my S4 with standard arches and narrow rear springs and a bit of relieving of the inner lip on the rear arches, these are on the 14x6 minilite style wheels supplied by Spyder many years ago. However these are not currently fitted and I have 5x13 4 spoke Revolution wheels with 165/70/13 tyres on the car at the moment. All these wheels are knock ons, I prefer the look of the Revolutions to the minilite lookalikes and they are much lighter as well. If you want the look in the photo then you'll need to fit the 26R style arches and I suspect lower the car as well. Not entirely sure how sensible that would be given the state of UK roads, but your car so you are free to do as you wish.

the reason of the rounded arches is likely to be the wide arch kit to accomodate the wide rims.
They appear to be of the multi part bolted version, though it's not easy to see on the angled photo... I own a set of period 14" PLS RIM made on that principle, 6.5" wide
never used them yet, they would need the right project and dimensions...

I have 185/60r13 Toyo R888R tires on my S4 with standard arches. Had to shave a few mm off the left rear arch and install rack limiters in the front to avoid fouling the ARB. Narrow springs in the back.
Tires are mounted on 26R replica wheels from TTR. Aluminum alloy in 5" width. 26R hubs and knockoff spinners.
If you want to go bigger you will need to modify the arches. What I have installed is a very tight fit but it works.
