Michelin XAS and S3 Elans?

There don't seem to be many options for 13" tires (tyres). I was thinking of getting a set of Michelin XAS tires. Does anyone have 155R13s on their S3? Coker Tires says that they'll fit an S4, but they don't know if they'll fit an S3 (S3 SE SS FHC to be specific).

(I tried searching the forum, but there are hundreds of posts with XAS in them)

When I first bought my Elan in 1979 it had 155/80-13 Pirelli Cinturatos on it. The only place they rubbed was on the top of the front arches when entering a driveway at full lock.
There is no cure for Lotus, only treatment.

Looks like it varies from car to car. I have always run 155s on me Elans and the only problem I ever encountered was once I had one rub on the ARB at full right hand lock. I could never quite adjust it out, either. However, I have always found Michelins a bit too hard for the Elan and very nervous in the wet, the Dunlop SP range suited me better. Recently I have used both Arrowsport and Hangkook tyres on Elans and found them very good.

I have Michelin XAS on my s3, All fine but for the front right damaging the body on a hard right turn on a bumpy dirt road with two people in the car. So just depends if you're gonna go do a u turn on a dirt road with hardened mud tracks with two people in the car and run over one of the tracks at a very specific angle...

I'll keep that in mind (my parents live on a class 3 road that becomes a nearly unpassable Class 4 road (rutted mud) after their house).

I don't know if they have changed since, but my recollection of XAS tyre in the early 70's was that there were brilliant in the dry and terrible in the wet; so I've never fitted them since.
