Elan Wheels

Heres a question that may be obvious to some, but to a lesser mortal has been nagging for a while...
What is the difference between S3 and S4 knock on steels. I had assumed that all elan steel knock ons were te same???????

The Elan knock on wheels are all the same with 13 by 4.5" wide rims, the Plus 2 wheels however are an inch wider at 5.5" i understand.
