Just wondering...does this wheelbrace look like the Lotus supplied item?
(Same shade of red as the ratchet which is same as Lotus item)

Back again folks, years ago I also faced not having an original jack for the elan, at the time
a drove a lovely old Triumph 2500TC, it just so happened that the jack supplied with the
old trumpy was ideal for the elan, so I still have and use that jack today. (car went to trumpy heaven)
They are compact and quick to operate, both the jack and handle can be stored in the ekan
boot under the spare.
The wheel brace is one bought at an auto store, but modified, retaining only the hex drive
for lotus wheel nuts, cut theremaining hex drives of, and the brace is then a nice light n easy to
use spinner tool.
Just one other thing with the trumpy jack, the top, or head of the jack was cut and shut
to reduce the lowered height a little more. And as you can see there is no problem
with lift... it's got more lift than you'll ever need.

Here's a supplementary question for you:
Whatever type of wheelbrace Lotus provided for bolt-on wheels...what "tool" was envisaged to remove the hubcaps?
Cheers - Richard
