I have just bought an S4 which has not been on the road for 14 years and it had Ceat Radials on which were cracking. I was tempted by the Michelins as posted on this Forum but at ?150 a corner and unsure about whether the cars geometry is set up correctly I thought I would go for a mid price option with the Bridgestones and heard they were ok. I find they are not as sure footed as the Ceats I took off!! Perhaps they need a bit more bedding in.
What do others think? Have they tried them?

New tyres take a few miles to scrub in. They tend to be a bit slippery due to the release agent residue from the manufacturing process.
With a high profile tyre like the 155x80x13 fitted to the Elan the side wall stiffness is very important, this is one area where the Michelin XAS scores well.
