changing tyres

I use a shallow (Japanese!) scissor jack under the front damper antiroll bar mounting peg/nuts at the front, and under a block of wood under the rear wishbone outboard longitudinal tube (next to the brake disc) at the rear. It means (a) you don't have to jack very far before the tyre is off the ground, and (b) the suspension does not have to hang at full droop (esp. the rear donuts...).

Iv'e always used the jacking points with no problem and mine is a convertable +2. If the sill members are in goood condition there should be no problem, if they are not change them as the seat belts also bolt to them, it's not that difficult to change them.
Even if you fit galvanised ones treat the with wax, they still corrode where the poltice of muck collects along the bottom.
