Can someone tell me the correct colour for the knockoff wheels on my S2? Were they metalic, glossy, flat??? grey-silver, silver, bluish-silver???
Same as wire wheel paint on other LBCs available from Moss?
Thanks
Darren

Could be wrong but I believe S2 SE's had knock on's and I think it might have been offered as an option (for a price) for the later S2's (my S2 has bolt on's)

To add to the tally, I have two with out and one with knock-on's. One of mine is completely stock and original and the wheels are untouched from new. They are a silver color with a low sheen. I could get a paint book for a match if no one knows the color.

Just to add to the confusion, my old 65 S2 was with black bolt-on wheels.
The "Lotus Elan Ultimate Portfolio" book shows various pictures from a number of published US road tests dating from May 65 with silver knock-ons. The earliest RHD car shown in the book is a "D" reg 1966 SE with silver knock-ons. Maybe the US had knock-ons as standard before the UK with the SE.
I was amused to see that a 1965 UK review had the car with bolt-ons accompanied by a very nice cut-away drawing showing knock-ons.

As far as color of S2 wheels, I have found that Chevolet Astro Van silver is a good match for the low sheen silver used on the original wheels, and is readily available.
