Will plus 2 calipers fit behind 5 inch x 13 minilites?

Hi all

Anybody any experience on this one?

I'm not sure if the thicker alloy causes fouling problems and don't want to find out after buying calipers.

Thanks all

Yes. My S4 is running +2 calipers and disks with 5x13 minilites. See my site www.stig.uklinux.net for more details.

You should not have any interference with the +2 calipers. I have spent some time trying to get a set of 13X6 Minilites installed on my +2S. Caliper clearance is not among the many frustrations. For me the biggest problem is the centerlock nut bottoming on the hub before the wheel is tight. The stack-up height of the wheel and center ring is much less than the equivalent dimension on the standard, pressed-steel wheels. I am loathe to space the wheel out due to losing engagement of the drive pegs in the holes in the wheel. You may be fine if you have bolt-on hubs.

Russ,

If you've got genuine Minilites, then this can/should be easily resolved.
My Minilites come with a spacer that sits between the knock-on spinner and the Minilite rim.

Give Minilite (Tech Del) a ring to confirm, and then order 4 or 5.

Regards,
Stuart.

Stuart,
Thanks for this tip. My wheels are genuine Minilite but I bought them almost ten years ago. Perhaps this spacer ring is a new item. Mine came with steel rings of a very thin section, too thin to resolve the bottoming problem. I noticed something looking like a thicker ring at the Spyder web site, maybe this is the item that came with your wheels. Thanks again.
