Wood steering wheel

Can someone tell me what the correct grain/colour a wood steering wheel is for the Elan S3
I think mine is rather red in colour and wounder if it is right. There is a red one at ebay at the moment as well.

In my 67 built S3, owned since 72, it's a continuously wrapped piece of Beechwood which is a very pale wood and light tan in color when finished and I would say there really isn't any red hue in it Gordon Sauer
