Steering Column Bulkhead Grommit

Hi All,
I'm trying to work out how the steering column should get through the bulkhead in a properly sorted Plus 2S130.
My car had about a 1.25" hole in the fibreglass, with a metal plate with a similar sized hole and a rubber washer on the engine side. This was attached with four screws using plastic rawlplugs drilled into the bulkhead. This plate also had a hole for the speedo cable.
Does this sound right? What should there be?
Are the 'rubber' grommits readily available?
Thanks.
Niall.

When I did mine, (+2S130) I made the grommets out of old car tyre inner tube rubber. Cut the same dimensions as the metal plate, punched out hole for the column to run thru, and I used 2 layers of rubber. Then clamped the rubber gaskets between metal plate & body. Works fine ? I couldn't find anyone Neil/Matty/SJ etc who did the real thing. Rgds John
