Steering column mount

It seems that the outer steering column in my car can be rotated a little too easily. I attempted to tighten the mount on the dash, but the studs are at the end of their threads. I put a few washers under the nuts, but the column is still not tight enough. This would indicate to me that this mount should be replaced.

Is this mount common to some other car? If anyone has specifics and availability it would be great.

AHA! I was referring to the mount (#49), but after a check, it appears that I do not have #50, no wonder it's not tight. Thanks Gary.

Any ideas on sources? It looks like there is an unnumbered part above #50 as well.

AFAIK it's all triumph spitfire/herald parts apart from the alloy casting that fixes to the rear of the dashboard. Rimmers stock some parts - link below.

If I'm interpreting things correctly, the bits missing are felt pads. On mine they'd compressed over time and I replaced them with a thin strip of rubber between the column & the clamp, but if you want the OEM parts they're only a couple of quid from Rimmers.

Thanks Brian. The part in question is actually a spring clip #609639, and is NLA from Rimmers, and others.

I found one place that lists then part as available, so unless someone stateside has a spare used one, I will follow up on that lead.
