Hi Everyone

Could anyone here please tell me how the steering column of the Plus 2 130/5 was originally earthed?

Earth strap across the lower steering joint, with the 2 pinch bolts through the 2 eyelets. Earth strap with an eyelet under the grease nipple and the other eyelet beneath the rack bracket on the chassis picking up on one of the rack clamp threads.

Hi. Thought I'd take a look in my scanned workshop manual and see if there's any evidence - I need to fit mine too so thanks for the prompt. I've attached a page, which shows one of the straps - well the ends of it anyway - on the cap nut and left hand unit clamp.

I haven't managed to find the other one that the previous posterMark mentioned - from the description is it sounds like it goes from the column pinch bolt on the flexible coupling to the pinion pinch bolt on the flexible coupling.

Sean.

There are two ground wires. One on the rack as described and one across the attaching bolts on the flex coupling.

Thanks everyone

It's the one across the flexible coupling I seem to be missing. Thanks for the info
