May I ask how you dealt with the right angle hose to heater connection and are the heater connection close to the firewall or the dash?
We are supposed to be having fun, are we not?

No issue, just a nice big bend... there's plenty of space.

Update FYI:
Total length of heater hose needed: 5 feet (after stuffing extra hose length under dash, I had 1" extra leftover)
ID: 1/2"
Inlet hose length (right side): Water Pump Housing to heater core: >36",
-can be longer if you allow extra length under dash, I noted hose end to be damaged due to age at the housing.
-cutoff damaged end (after 20 yrs) and use again!
Return hose length (left side): Thermostat housing to heater core: >19"
- As above
Picture below are the heater hoses I removed.
The extra pieces of hose:
- to the right on the top (right ) hose was the 2" I took off to pull the hose through the grommet in the firewall.
- to the right on the bottom (left ) hose was the 1" left over from the 5' hose (not showing the 2" cut off piece)
