+2S steering column binnacle

PostPost by: andywatts » Mon Apr 06, 2015 12:38 pm

The binnacle on my 1969 +2S has two holes in the top, near to the dashboard, and the original dash had holes just above the steering column - see attached picture. Obviously at some time there was a bracket there, but the Parts List diagram doesn't show anything in this location

Can anyone confirm that there should be a bracket, and give me a rough description (or even better a picture). For example, did the bracket go right round the steering column and also fix the bottom of the binnacle?

My 73 doesn't have a bracket there. I'd guess it's a mod by a DPO.

I'd agree with that. My 1970 +2S (fed) has no holes and no bracket either.

My late plus 2 has a single hole at the top close to the steering wheel. A screw passes through that's and into the metalwork of the column surround. Same on the lower section.
