Mounting Fresh Air Vents (Sprint)

PostPost by: TroonSprint » Tue Jan 28, 2014 3:57 pm

Right, in my numerous parts for the Sprint I have the two fresh air vents complete with their butterfly valves. I know they go at either end of the dashboard, but how do they mount and what am I missing? The photo shows all I have currently, which isn't enough obviously. The parts book, and even Buckland's manual, makes no mention of the way these are fitted. I guess there is some sort of cover in which the vent can be mounted. Advice please, and a nice clear photo would help too!

Have a look at this - there are some photos.

Thank you for that, very helpful. Having been back into my loft to see what I was given, it appears that I have four under-dash trims and no pillar trims. Damn! I thought I had a pair of each type.

Subsidiary question - The vent goes through the pillar trim. Is there anything else behind the trim to support the vent?

Mike

The vent is simply a very tight fit through the pillar trim and the ducting is just pushed over the end of the vent.

If you have spare under dash trims you may be able to swap for pillar trims with some one.
