+2 heater fitting

PostPost by: c42 » Sun Nov 10, 2013 1:52 pm

Hi All

Even though I thought that I had photographed my car to death when taking it apart, I do not have a picture that clearly shows where the heater brackets bolt to the bobbins in the bulkhead and I cannot find one in the archive. When I trial fit the heater assembly the brackets or more to the point the rubber bushes will not reach the bobbins and I cannot for the life of me remember if there should be some spacers between the two.

Has anyone got any photographs or can anyone remember how the assembly should fit?

Thanks in anticipation

Is this what you're after ?

My dash is out at the moment, but as I'm away from tomorrow morning, shout quickly if you need any other shots.

Thanks Peter, as I thought no spacers! I will need to investigate further as to why it does not sit correctly.

John,

Presumably you are aware there is a large circular foam ring around the fan and a rectangular foam seal where the pipes passes through the bulkhead?

Other than that I do not recall any difficulty fitting my fan - it just sort of popped straight on.

Hi Jon

Yes, I have the foam ring but the lower part of the heater box seems to be fouling on the front bulkhead stopping the lower bracket touching the bobbin - this is on the passenger side of a RHD car. I will have to investigate further!
