My heater controls seem reversed, i.e. when on cold, hot
air comes through, and when on hot, cold air comes through. Is this easy to resolve?

Show us a photo of your heater control valve. It might be upside down.
What year is your car and is it an Elan 2-seater or is it an Elan Plus 2 ?

Ah, I was talking avout the hotwater valve on the Elan 2-seater.
Your Plus 2 may not have one of those.
