Seat Vinyl Repairs

PostPost by: oldelanman » Sun Jul 15, 2012 8:06 am

Has anyone tried using a vinyl repair kit on their seats ? There are several kits on the market which claim to do amazing repairs but I wonder how effective they really are. Is it worth a try or a waste of money?

I tried one once that you heated - which melted the original vinyl (not on an Elan). There used to be some cold repair materials, which never worked either.

Things may have improved, but I would not risk on an Elan seat, try out on something else first.

It just so happens that I have an old seat cover for a sprint unripped that could go to a good home if interested. the drivers seat one I have has a rip /tear on the side bolster again could be used for experimenting.

Let me know
