Heater valve housing

PostPost by: richard sprint » Sat May 02, 2009 12:23 am

When recently removing the body from the chassis with the engine in situ. I could not figure out how this could be done with the heater valve housing in place as there was no space to clear.

None of my reference books made any mention of this so I'm wondering if there was an obvious trick I had missed?

To complete the task I removed the head as the engine is due for an overhaul - but would be good to know for the future....

Undo the exhaust side engine mount, jack the engine up a bit with a trolley jack under the sump and this should give you just enough clearance to get the heater valve out.

I had to replace a leaking heater valve and this method worked for me.
