I use the Socket on the outside and the 2ba in the tool kit on the inside, you can often get away with small adjustable spanner etc on the inside its just the outside has recessed washers and not the biggest Contact area on the head.

Vinyl Ester resin is a tad mor flexible. Kevlar as opposed to carbon, s-glass , e, or regular.
But it will flex often, so the further/larger area of vinyl/Kevlar the better

I really like Vinyl Ester resin as you say its very flexible and Damage resistant https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TLq3n95dxBM i would not hesitate using it to make a new Tray from but imho where your doing repairs Epoxy adherers better to Polly and is stronger if you don't need the extra flex.

That said there Both in different leagues to polyester resin and for me i'd be happy using either.

I believe the differences are based on marine and aircraft testing mainly. The reality is it is going to flex so don't fight it.
Unless there is some way to ad a sleeve that is surrounded by rubber probably with washers outside. Don't know if that is too much flex but one can get varying thicknesses of rubber encapsulated sleeves with washers on the outside. Maybe a motorbike application.
