Hi Simon thats exactly what I have just done for my 71 Sprint. I did find the correct spacing somewhere on the DVLA web site but i'm blowed if I can now.

I'm so bright that I worked out that I could put the grille over the rear number plate and see!
That's what I did with mine also.
I put the new grill over the old one and marked the new holes with a dab of correction fluid.

Getting the correct spacing never occurred to me . I just did it by eye...

Has anyone found a source for the individual front letters/numbers? I see some on e-bay uk now and again with a limited selection and usually black.
