Water leak in boot - Side extractor air vents?

Washed the car at the pressure wash, and had to drain about a quart of water from the boot. Looks like I have an acceptable seal on the antenna base and gas filler. No evidence of water coming in through the lid gasket. Pouring water (no pressure) around the right extractor vent I could see water running into the boot. Left vent looked OK, but will try it again to be sure Drove in the rain last night for an hour, and collected about a pint of water again; not sure how much was from testing or how much was from the weather.
Any thoughts before I remove the inside rear panels? Other spots to check? Have I perhaps assembled something incorrectly in the vent area? Fuel vent hose gasket perhaps? They are all like that; drill a drain hole and live with it?

Hi
I have the same problem; I changed the fuel filler grommet and the rear light gaskets. It still leaks so laid out kitchen towel across the boot floor, closed the boot and hosed it down. When you open the boot you can clearly see the rear window rubber is leaking (has gone hard). I will have to replace it one day but for now I just keep out of the rain and put a towel down when I wash the car.

Thanks Jason. I will try to check the window seal.

Check your bumper bolts too. They drop through the bodywork without any kind of seal (well they did on mine anyway). I've cured it by fitting rubber washers between the underside of the bumper and top edge of the bodywork which it rests on. My bolts looked ok from the outside but were well corroded where the nuts are inside the boot...

After nearly 6 years I'm still chasing down a leak in my +2's boot
With the trim out it looks and feels like water coming down from highish on on either side of teh back window.
I have resealed the window with tec7 between the rubber and body and rubber and glass....still have the leak.
Seems too high to be teh vents, though I had originally suspected them.
Could it be condensation/or water from somehwere in the roof rolling down the inside of the roof into the boot??
I NEARLY have my bonded front screen water tight
And have fixed all the leaks that come come into the car from the doors!

Thanks for the replies. I will check the bumper bolts, which could be a possibility as the water would be below the floor boards. The window seal is new, but will check that as well. When testing with a hose I could see a steady water stream from one of the vents though, so will have to take apart and check out the seal and draining of the vent area.
Although my issue is way too much to be condensation; I would think condensation would be primarily on the rear glass and be easy to see? If there is a lot of condensation I guess it would run past the rear parcel shelf and into the boot floor though.

Greetings.
How goes the water leak issue, Stu?
I noticed that I had a wet spot on my shoulder belt, so assumed that the extractor vent cavity leaked some water and it dropped onto the seatbelt reel. Right?
So these extractor vent pockets . . . they must have been a bear to seal at the factory. Now perhaps tougher for us. The fuel vent pipe passes through the cavity, too. So presumably sealing around the lower fuel vent tube exit would be important, too.
What to use? Some sort of household/construction caulking? Some automotive product?
As for boot leaks, I'm planning to remove the boot floor, panels, tire, etc. and put some paper around to "show" water (close up boot and water down, then open to see what I see). Also thought the boot aperture gasket could be tested with some coloured water paint or other easily removeable stuff spread on the top edge of the gasket. Close the boot lid, then open and see what transfer you get from the gasket to the underside of the boot lid. If the gasket is making good contact all around, you should have a tranfer of your marking material on the underside of the boot lid all the way around. No?
Some thoughts. Haven't quite got to it yet, but soon. They don't call this the Wet Coast for nothin' (as you know, Stu!)

Sounds like plan Randy. Didn't have a chance to work on the boot further yet, but after about five days of rain it is pretty damp again. I figure I can check the window seal with the lid open. Going to use black auto sealant around vent hoses. Trunk seal is new, but will check as you suggest. Moved door seals a bit, but need to check for leaks.

Yup, yup. Leaking boots. They're a pain.
One thing we can say, though . . . at least we can retire for the night knowing the boot floor is not quietly rotting through as we sleep (unlike our Alfas, no?)
I'll post when I have some good news
