Plus 2 and Plus 2S bodyshell differences

Sorry for the rash of posts, I'm just in enthusiasm mode
What, save for fog lights recesses, are the differences between the Plus 2 and Plus 2S bodyshell?
I have spotted what appears to be a good Plus 2 shell which may make a better economic choice than repairing my Plus 2S shell.

Quite a few detail changes which would give problems, unless you have the early bits and pieces to go with the early shell. From front to back:
Fog lights on the ?S?
Full width radiator on the early cars (maybe different mounting holes)
Two vacuum pods on the early car and early ?S?
Pedal box aperture on both sides of early car (blanking plate where not used) with different shape mounting.
Different windscreen aperture for rubber seal and bonded screen cars
Integral door handle / lock for early cars. Different internal handle / mechanism / position.
Different door catches and latches, so probably different mounting holes.
Undertray at rear has recess for transverse exhaust silencer on early cars
External boot lock for early cars; no pull handle on ?B? Post.
Deep recesses for original Carello (Alfa Romeo) rear light clusters on early cars.
Different badge positions on bodywork, hence different holes.
I?m sure that there would be different holes in the bulkhead between the different models as well, but I can photograph these if you?re not put off by the above!

Jono, if you are talking about the shell for sale on e-bay (280390971304) then take a closer look after reading Marks post. Although the front doesn't have the later fog light recesses moulded in, it does have the recess in the door jamb for the remote boot release and the single pedal box apeture of the later shells which could make it suitable for your intended use...unless you have a bonded windscreen.

I don't know whether there was some degree of continuous development or whether there were distinct versions of the shell but I suspect that there were at least three versions:
Early, +2S and +2S/130.
I've got a +2S shell and a +2S/130 and the differences are not too significant apart from the bonded screen on the 130.
The foglights have three variants, the early cars had none, the +2S had an aperture with a moulded plastic liner and the 130s had a recess woulded into the fibreglass. You can easily convert between them
Mark's summarised the differences well, there was also a mod on the top of the rear suspension tower whic is detailed in the workshop manual so you can (and probably should) upgrade early cars.
The +2S had underbonnet lights set in the side of the engine bay whereas the 130 has a light mounted on the trailing edge of the bonnet.
Early cars had two screenwash jets and later cars one.

Good points, Mike. The later 130 also had the puddle lights / rear facing red lights built into the doors.
We'll get there!
Jon and I have been having a bash on PM, and it looks like that shell is a late Pre 'S' or an early 'S'. Certainly not an early Pre 'S'.
