Wrong prop shaft yoke

Hi
Due to trouble with mine, I bought a new yoke from a famous provider. Unfortunately, the one I received was 6 mm too longer

Fortunately my friend Pierre had a correct one. But I have to find a good one for the exchange.
Does anyone had the same problem ? Do you know where I can find a correct one ?

I've just fitted a new yoke to my Elan propshaft and after reading your post I've checked mine and it looks the same as yours.
Did you try fitting it? Does it make the shaft too long?

Maybe it's a good idea to check the total length of the prop shaft yoke. If the total lengths are the same then assemble/slide into the gearbox and secure diff flange. When fitted is there a gap between end of gearbox and machined shoulder on prop yoke. Maybe is more than the 6mm that you need.
For me the most important is the position of the Welch Plug in the prop yoke, if it is 6mm further forward it will get dislodged and you will loose the Gearbox oil.
If the only difference is the position of the external shoulder it can be machined.
I don't know if fitting a different prop yoke will effect the balance, wait and see.

Alan,
I have checked the new yoke on a spare gear box and found that the shoulder should not be a problem. However it looks as if the clearance on the welsh plug is only about 1 or 2 mm. I doubt that is enough.
I note that the new yoke has two opposing splines missing, presumably to stop hydraulically locking.

I need another new yoke anyway as the kind people who balanced the shaft have marked the new yoke right in the area where the oil seal will run.

I very much doubt that, these people never admit it's their fault.
The same with the yoke, when I ring the supplier I know full well that he'll say "That's the first time anyone's had a problem with that" and that's even if Franck has just phoned him with the same problem.

It's that well known supplier with the same initials as Theresa May's job. I would suspect that most of the suppliers in the UK will be selling the same part.

To be fair the yoke might be OK but it's cutting it very fine. I suspect that it may be ok on some cars and not on others. It's a whole lot of work to fit only to find that in 2K miles the welsh plug has been punched out.

Well the supplier is racing ... . Any way the guy I have to deal with was very kind with me, he did his best to send the part at time and he has accepted me to return the part after that.
We finally have fitted a used yoke but I need to find another one for the exchange

I think for the exchange any ford Anglia 105e,113e, 107e, Cortina mk1 or mk11 , Corsair, Capri or Ford Classic will be o.k.

Or another solution is to reduce dia of worn part and fit an "Speedisleeve"

Thanks for the suggestions.
One problem is that most of the used parts are either worn or rusty.From the pic on the TTR web site his new part looks just the same as mine.
I may have to do a trial fit of the gearbox to see how it is.

I can recommend North West Propshafts for refurbishment, supply of correct yokes, balancing and shortening and other prop woes.

I test fitted the gearbox and prop shaft today and I found that the prop shaft just goes past the diff flange. This means that there will be the depth of the register (1.5mm) free play before the welsh plug in the yoke hits the gearbox tail shaft. Obviously the amount of free play will vary from car to car.
Seems like I shall have to shorten the shaft.
