Elan or Elan +2 diff case

PostPost by: ajoasika » Mon Aug 22, 2011 4:09 pm

i am looking for an Elan or Elan +2 diff casing, to take a Ford-type diff carrier. This diff carrier is odd - having 15 holes instead of the usual 8, and is made of alloy . When I got it in 1981, I think it was advertised as coming from a Lotus Cortina. It now has a Salisbury LSD, and is still heavy! I read that there are early and late type diff casings. How do they differ? Are Elan and Elan +2 casings the same?

Also looking for a set of knock-off hubs, spinners and wheels.

thanks

Mark,

See thread below with pics:

I believe that the diff strengthening bracket was also introduced, along with the beefed up casing "ears", for Sprints & S130's

Note also the differing output shaft specs.

Cheers - Richard
