S4 Silencer Box Attachment

I am about to fit a complete SS exhaust system using a single box to my S4. When mounting the front silencer mounting to the bodywork I was wondering if the 2 rubber bobbins were really necessary. Instead could you use a rubber hanging strap and attach this to the boot floor with an angle metal bracket. The bobbins would therefore not be needed. Would this not be a more reliable method of attachment as bobbins can sometimes split or become unbonded. The silencer box would then rely on 2 rubber straps for movement and cushioning.

Will,
I think your doubts about the original bobbin / strap setup are unfounded.
I have grounded, whacked, completely knocked off the entire exhaust system from the Y piece back, yet the rubber bobbins remain on the car to this day.
And the bobbins serve a dual purpose in any event. They keep the rear box in the correct position relative to the body whilst insulating the box from the body.
If you just used 2 straps, they would not prevent the box from moving backwards if the box received a small, or large knock, and would be solely relying on the exhaust clamps to prevent rearward movement.
