Replacement exhaust

Whilst removing the engine for a rebuild i inadvertently broke the exhaust manifold, not a problem as an easy fix with a mig welder. just about to carry this out over the weekend and noticed the connection into the Y piece where it failed the pipe protruded in to the Yoke by at least 40 mm creating a massive obstruction in gas flow.
Not a good situation after spending thousands in the rebuild to hopefully gain some increase in HP.
Question is has anyone investigated what is the best supplier of a replacement manifold and probably the rest of the system as well.
Look forward to anyone's help as looking at Tony Thompson site the cost is likely to over ?800

Evening Steve
Just going through the same dilemma myself and have ended up placing an order for a full TTR exhaust system inclusive of fixing kit which is over a thousand pounds inclusive of VAT and post .
My Elan came fitted with a large bore manifold but the rest of the system was standard diameter centre pipe and standard Sprint back box , I could have bought just the centre pipe and silencer from TTR but decided to go all out to compliment the engine spec and build quality.
Expensive but the system as well as other TTR parts always seem to get excellent reviews.

I also just purchased the complete TTR fast road exhaust system for my car. With a new engine build almost completed I wanted the free flow and great sound to complement the engine work that was done. Quality of the parts is very very good.

Hi
I had a complete stainless steel system made and fitted by Powerflow in Queensferry.
My car didn't have the twin cam when I bought so I had a zetec fitted. The guys at Powerflow had the car for two days and did an excellent job. Photos are available in the mods section. It cost me ?575. I have no affiliation to Powerflow or any of its subsidiaries.

I fitted the full TTR fast road system last year. The gain in performance at higher revs is noticeable both on the rolling road and on the real road. Rolling road showed that my 420 spec engine was being choked up by the standard exhaust above 5300-5400 RPM. Fitting the TTR exhaust has really let it breathe.
Fitting the TTR system can be a bit tricky due to the equal length pipes coiling towards the bulkhead, and the chassis cross brace restricting access at the bottom. My mechanic had to cut, and later reweld the brace to fit the system, but later on Spyder replaced it with a removable one.
My car banged and popped quite a bit after the exhaust change, but after a session on the rolling road it's now as nice as ever, albeit noticeably louder.

Adigra, did you need to make any changes to the standard frame to fit the fast road header?

What is the outside diameter of the tubes on the TTR Fast Road header?

Just the cutout on the chassis rail, which is usually needed for most larger bore exhausts. My car already had it from the previous system, and it didn't need enlarging for the TTR one.
I did fit some heat shielding to the footwell as the rear pipe of the manifold comes very close to it.
Aside from that, as I mentioned above, we found it impossible to fit without cutting the cross brace, so fitting a removable one was a great solution.

Few weeks ago I fitted a TTR full race manifold (1" 5/8ths O/D) and system.
I didn't cut the chassis brace but it probably would've been easier to.
Ended up removing both engine mounts and the alternator and pushing the engine as far across as possible and it then went in.
Bit of a puzzle!

Paul, did you have the cutout in the frame?

There was already a small cut out in the chassis from a previous manifold. I enlarged this with an angle grinder.
Next time the engines out I plan to strengthen as per the TTR 26R mods.
