Sprint rear silencer grounding

Can anyone answer a question in relation to the rear silencer fixing points? Sounds simple although I get differing replies. At present I have a rubber strap with two holes attaching both the rear and front fixings on the rear silencer. The manual shows only 1 at the rear fixing and looks like the front fixing is bolted directly to the bracket which is isolated by two small rubber fixings bolted to the body. Is this correct as it appears impossible to bolt the silencer directly to the bracket without fouling the bodywork.
The problem with using two straps is that the straps slide down the slider fixings on both ends of the silencer and the exhaust clamp to the pipe fouls the slightest bump in the road and gets knocked off. I'm guessing the design of the silencer has changed and just wondered if anyone has devised a method of clamping the straps so the silencer cannot slip down.
