Happy Christmas!
Hmmph. I was crushed this morning to discover that Santa did not bring me a nicely bent Y piece. He has a better workshop than me and brings socks?

Thanks for your comments. I was hoping that slightly downward pointing manifolds connected to a bent Y piece was a known configuration. I know such things exist for large bore exhaust systems - see picture. Unfortunately it's for 1 3/4" and 2" o/d pipes.
Anyway, seeing how beautifully Roger's system fits emphasizes that there is more work to do. In the next round I'll loosen the manifolds to see what can be achieved.
No sealer was applied to the gearbox/bracket bolt - there was an unexpected rush of oil at the time and panic was the order of the moment!
