Replacement Exhaust

PostPost by: Galwaylotus » Mon Jul 18, 2016 11:26 am

My Elan's exhaust system is giving up to the rust monster. I'm looking at getting a stainless steel replacement manifold and have seen a set on S J Sportscars. Has anyone purchased and installed this item and if so are there any fit problems? I'm located in Ireland so I'll have to get it shipped. I hope the shipping costs aren't outrageous!!

I fitted a SS big bore manifold, Y piece, pipe and twin box on my 1970 S4 from www.kelsport.net and they fitted perfectly missing the chassis by 3mm! The only thing I had to do was adjust the length of the manifold tails and pipe once in place with a chain cutter. So well made I have bought a second one for another Elan.

I fitted a Tony Thompson large bore/equal branch length manifold and main pipe and silencer many years ago.

It was expensive at the time, but has stood the test of time very well :)
