Hi

Louder than what? What do you have now?

The stainless exhausts are louder than the mild steel.
Mine is mild steel down pipe to stainless pipe straight through to single back box. Has a nice note to it (I think, it was a while ago I heard it).

Ian,

TTR do big-bore exhausts and silencers, both road and race versions.

I have the race version and the sound is good (vbg) !

Regards,
Stuart.

Tried the rev it hard style but even at red line its not quite there..maybe its unfair comparing the note to ducatis and triumphs..

You could fit a 2 Liter Zetec & 2.5" Exhaust system. Twin 45 DCOE's or Throttle Bodies.
All of that makes a big noise; 101+ db and even more at 7500 RPM
On Carbs, lots of big overrun bangs as well!

Driving through Tunnels & Underpasses is FUN

If you were in
Canada, I'd say that you could check out Stebro

This is my old one. They'll still make them up. but not cheaply.

I got a replacement recently for my original from the seventies.

Well yes, it wouldn't be what you'd call a Weekend Job
A TTR Stainless Steel Silencer might be a solution or what about one of those Bike Silencers where you can vary the number of Baffles?

That's thought, I've seen on TV how the Police control Biker's aftermarket Exhausts yet they don't do it to Cars.
And that leads me to another thought; why do they enforce the Seat Belt & Crash Helmet Laws?
Who are you going to harm apart from yourself if you're not wearing them?
And who on Earth allowed them to pass such a Law?

Spare a thought for the people who have to separate your body parts from the car after the accident...

The reason to force usage of helmets, seat belts, etc is to minimize costs to society as a whole.

The individual may be willing to undertake the additional risks involved in not using a helmet or seat belt, or may complain of the restrictions to their personal liberty, but society as a whole saves money by forcing the use of these safety devices, which statistically reduce the costs involved in an accident.

Driving is an elective action. If a person values their freedom to not wear helmets or use seat belts, then do not drive. Use public transport. Stand up for your rights by your actions, not by flauting those rules that society as a whole has deemed necessary.

If you do not like the rules, lobby your legislators to change or repeal them.

What does this have to do with maintaining our Elans?
